The Women’s Institute is for all women, young and those more mature ladies who like to be involved not only in village activities but also with the wider world. The Smeeth Branch of the Women’s Institute was formed over 100 years ago very shortly after the first ever W.I. branch was formed in Anglesea, and over those hundred years our commitment to providing our village women with the opportunity to extend themselves in a whole manner of ways. The W.I. is not simply “Jam and Jerusalem” but offers all women the chance to extend their skills and their knowledge of the wider world and at the same time enjoy companionship and friendship of fellow villagers.

We meet on the second Monday of the month at the Brabourne and Smeeth Village Hall at 7.30 pm and a remarkable range of speakers and activities are offered. We invite women to come along for a month or two and see for themselves what is on offer. Details of our regular monthly programme are to be found on noticeboards around the village as well as in the monthly Parish News.
